
On September 17, at 7:00 p.m. (MDT/UTC-6), BYU-Pathway Worldwide will host a historic broadcast for Spanish-speaking Latin America from Mexico City. The event marks the first time the Executive Committee of the Church Board of Education has gathered at an international BYU-Pathway location.
Elder D. Todd Christofferson, a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles and the chairman of the Executive Committee of the Church Board of Education, with other members of the Church Board of Education, including Elder Ronald A. Rasband and President Camille N. Johnson, will speak at the event. BYU-Pathway President Brian K. Ashton will be conducting.
BYU-Pathway 鶹ý and service missionaries living in the area are invited to attend in person at the multi-stake center at Aragón, Av. 510 90, Pueblo de San Juan de Aragón, Gustavo A. Madero, 07950 Ciudad de México, CDMX. The event will also be broadcast live at (a recording will be added after).
“Our goal is to make higher education accessible to everyone regardless of where they live,” said President Ashton. “We’re grateful for this historic opportunity to have the Church Board of Education in Latin America with so many of our wonderful 鶹ý.”
Across Latin America, 12,683 鶹ý enrolled in BYU-Pathway in 2022.
In the past six years in Mexico, 9,582 鶹ý, including 2,743 returned missionaries, have enrolled in BYU-Pathway. Since 2013, 鶹ý in Mexico have earned 663 certificates and degrees, and 90% have reported improved employment after receiving a bachelor’s degree.
